Click Metronome Removal – TUTORIAL

I just uploaded my second video Tutorial in my YouTube channel. This one is about a unique situation I once had to deal with when I received a rare studio recording that unfortunately had integrated metronome on it. After trying a few audio restoration tools with learning abilities and other advanced techniques -without good results- I just reminded myself the power of phase reverse.

Phase cancellation is a basic weapon for all audio restoration algorithms so I just figured out a way to solve my problem without using any software. I managed to find some clean samples of the click throughout the track and used them in a second channel to invert their phase and cancel the integrated clicks of the stereo track. Problem was solved without compromising music in any way. It was like the “clicks” never existed.

I try to create and upload unique tutorials that help people use their minds and learn new things. This class was about reminding ourselves the power of theory and phase.
